Engineered Panels in Construction (EPIC)

EPIC was established in 1991 to represent the PIR rigid urethane insulated panel industry in the UK providing up-to-date technical information and regulatory guidance for specifiers and building specialists.

The EPIC management team is drawn from the major manufacturers of rigid urethane products, responsible for over 90% of panels produced in the United Kingdom.

Objectives
The objectives of EPIC are to promote the benefits of insulated panels, whilst also offering up-to-date technical guidance to stakeholders in terms of their use and performance.

Technical advice
EPIC provides technical advice through a range of ‘Technical Guides’ covering fire performance, regulatory requirements, design, sustainability, energy conservation and end-of-life. Our guides are available in a pdf format, and can be easily downloaded from the EPIC website.

Our ‘Technical Guides’ are prepared using the extensive knowledge and experience of EPIC member companies, supported by a range of specialist consultants and stakeholders, taking account of all necessary regulatory and best-practice information available from within the UK and Europe. The guides reference or include supporting evidence from industry research programmes, case studies and independent testing.

Guidance for regulators
EPIC represents the insulated panel industry and is a major contributor to UK and European consultative groups and projects, particularly in the areas of design, energy conservation, sustainability, fire regulation, waste and end-of-life analysis.

We actively participate in the development of various BS and EN/ISO standards and regulations, whilst also working closely with stakeholders to develop best practice techniques and guides.
